Privacy & data
How your information is used, protected, and managed.
What do you do with my data?
Nexus Health uses the information you submit for independent oncology, genetic, and laboratory analysis. Our proprietary AI, machine learning, and algorithms support biological simulations that explore patterns and potential outcomes across your data.
The results are research findings and proposed treatment or action plans for clinician review. Clinicians make care decisions, taking your individual circumstances into account.
Link to this answerWho can see my data?
Access is restricted to authorized Nexus clinicians, administrators, and support staff who need it for their work. Staff access requires multi-factor authentication (MFA), an additional verification step beyond a password.
Link to this answerWhere does analysis happen? Do you use outside labs?
Our AI and machine-learning analysis runs on Nexus-owned GPU equipment in our private colocation facility. These analysis workloads are run in-house, rather than on public cloud AI services.
If you order laboratory services through Nexus Health, Quest handles specimen collection and lab services. That laboratory work is separate from the computational analysis Nexus performs in-house. The research portal and account services use separate hosting and authentication infrastructure.
Link to this answerIs my data secure?
Nexus protects health and personal information with encryption in transit and at rest, restricted access, and multi-factor authentication for authorized staff. Our production environment has completed a documented HIPAA compliance review.
We follow HIPAA-aligned procedures for protected health information (PHI) and safeguard personally identifiable information (PII). These protections are part of how we handle your information throughout the research process.
Link to this answerCan I delete my account? What happens to my data?
You remain in control of your information and can request account deletion at any time. Email support@nexushealth.me to arrange deletion of your account and associated data from our active systems.
Our team can explain how deletion applies to backups and any retention requirements. Contact us if you would like those details before making your request.

What the research offers and how findings are reviewed.
Does Nexus decide my treatment?
Care decisions belong to your clinician. Nexus brings genetic findings, laboratory results, and health history together to produce research findings and proposed treatment or action plans for clinician review.
A simulation or research finding does not establish an individual outcome. Your clinician evaluates the evidence and decides what is appropriate for your care.
Link to this answerWhich Nexus research engines are available?
BioMatrix, the Nexus Genetic Engine, is operating in production. The Oncology Engine and CSE (Couples Simulation Engine) are in beta.
Together, these programs explore human biology through advanced engineering, AI, and machine learning. The research library provides articles and context for each area.
Link to this answerIs there a cost to participate?
Research, analysis, and reporting through this Nexus Research program are free. Creating an account begins research intake.
DNA kits are a separate purchase, with discounted options available. Laboratory services ordered separately through Nexus Health may also have a cost. Ask the team about the applicable price before placing an order.
Link to this answerGetting started
Your account, your records, and the first steps of intake.
How do I get started?
Create an account and verify your email address. Then use your dashboard to add your information, upload available medical records, and complete the research questionnaire.
Registration begins research intake. You can save your questionnaire and return to it as you gather more information.
Link to this answerDo I need DNA results or new blood tests before signing up?
No. You can begin intake with the information you already have, including medical records, laboratory reports, and any available genetic results. A DNA-kit purchase is separate from registration.
The information available determines what can be reviewed. The team can help you understand what additional information may be useful.
Link to this answerHow many files can I upload?
You can upload multiple files, with a maximum of 50 MB per file and 400 MB of total storage per account. That allowance is shared across your own records and any children’s profiles.
Your file manager lets you rename, download, organize, or delete files. Deleting a file frees space in your account.
Link to this answerCan one account include more than one child?
Yes. A parent or caregiver can manage multiple children from one account. Each child has a separate profile, questionnaire, and associated files.
You can also use an account just for yourself. A child’s profile is optional.
Link to this answerPeople & support
Meet the people behind Nexus and get help from our team.
Can I talk to an actual person?
Absolutely. We are a small team of real people based in Arizona and California. You may hear from Tasha, John, Jimmy, or Steven.
Email support@nexushealth.me to reach us. You can also find this contact in your portal. Tell us what you need help with, and we will help you find the next step.
Link to this answerWhat is the best way to share health records with the team?
Use the file-upload area in your signed-in research dashboard. It keeps your records associated with the right person and available to the authorized Nexus team.
Use support email for questions about access or the next step. Please upload medical records through the portal instead of attaching them to a support email.
Link to this answerWho is Abby?
Abby is John’s niece. She was diagnosed with leukemia, and watching her testing and analysis take months to produce results became part of the inspiration for founding Nexus Health.
Her experience helped shape our commitment to advancing genetic research and making complex health information more useful to clinicians and the families they care for.
